Linear Geneva Mechanism

Linear Geneva mechanism is a type of intermittent motion mechanism. It translates a continuous rotation into intermittent linear motion.

The crank (driver) has a pin that reaches into a slot of the slider. The driver wheel has a raised circular blocking disc that locks the slider in position between steps. Generally, this mechanism is used in assembly machines.
